8 Months
I had to get a picture of Riley in front of our beautiful fall tree in our front yard.
This boys is crawling around on his feet not his knees and it is the funniest thing we have ever seen. He knows he can crawl, but he doesn't unless he wants something. He's so full of spunk!
He chants "da-da da-da da-DE" when he's in a fun playful mood....
but the second something goes wrong or someone does something he doesn't like...
he lets out a big huge.. "MA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
He rats everyone out.
He's such a love.
When he wakes up from his naps or in the morning, he never cries.
Just gets up and stands. Walks around his crib or playpen for a while.
We never know he's awake until we check on him.
He just enjoys standing in his play pen. He could stand there all day!
I put him in his jumper and he hates it! He has no independence there. So playpen it is! He so good about playing by himself while I'm doing hair. Very few times do I ever need to stop to occupy him.
We went up to Grammee Hess' funeral. Not one peep or complaint from him in the car. He loves car rides.
Four bottom teeth is all we actually have through right now.
He's got a real since of humor already. Fake sneezes are the greatest thing to him. He does his own fake coughs. He'll usually keep coughing fakely until he gets a laugh from you.
I have this picture blown up in a big frame on the wall in our family room.
(needs to be updated for sure)
He always laughs at himself as we walk by it.
Probably because he just loves babies. His favorite segments on baby einsteins is the babies/kids.
He loves his Grandma Hess' cat Ginger.
I've never seen a baby and a cat play together. He sticks his finger in her eye... and hits her on the head. That sort of thing would make you really nervous about how the animal might react. But she knows that he's playing with her. So she just rolls over on her stomach for some more fun.
My husband is so sweet. He was at work and there was a poor kitten that was nothing but skin and bones and was so hungry. She ran up to him while he was mowing at the Golf Course on the day after Thanksgiving. She was freezing cold. So he picked her up and put her in his front sweater pocket while he drove around. He was going to drop her off at the pound on his way home, but knowing it would be closed brought her home to at least feed her until the next day. His mom ended up keeping her. And we know that she is grateful she has a home. She sure acts grateful as much as you can see an animal act. We've loved her ever since!
But she is truely Riley's pal. Wherever he naps, she naps too. She's always near him.
Its funny the things you suddenly enjoy-love-appreciate once you have a child.
Those silly cartoons on tv are suddenly watchable or enjoyable.
The toy aisle is now one of your favorite stops at each store.
Calling it a night early always now seems like more fun.
Life is always changing.
I've been looking for a really cute growth chart for this little boy...
I might end up making one. I feel like I need to get on that quick.
He's a growin'!

I don't know if you "Pinterest" but I saw the cutest growth chart ever. They took a tall plank of wood you know that you'd get at LOWES or something :) then stained it a dark brown and made it look like a tall ruler to mark growth.... ANYWAY just thought of that when you said you needed a growth chart thingy! AND he's SO dang cute!! I love this stage... no talking back, no running away... and your still the best thing around to them!!
