The Peppermint Twist
We decorated a tree for the Jubilee of Trees this year at work. Though there were a lot of beautiful trees, we loved our own. Pictures cannot do it justice because it twinkled and rotated. The lights in the firepit were flame lights. So against the red bulbs they looked like coal.
It was quite funny when we got there to set up at 8 in the morning. We had our tree decorated all ready so we just wheeled it in to its spot while everyone else pulled all three tree parts out of the boxes and began the fluffing process. We just plugged ours in! All of the money for our tree went to the expanding our Hospital's NICU. But the neatest part was that we went to deliver the tree and the lady that bought it wanted the whole setting in her living room. Fire pit and all. Such a neat experience to be donating so much time and work.

Russell, Scott, and I went to the luncheon for all the designers at the Dixie Center and we while they were talking and giving out awards we sat there talking amongst ourselves. This was our first year and we didn't expect anything from our tree. So when they announced we had won City Council's Choice award we were seriously like, WHAT??! Totally not expecting anything! It was funny. Excited that we put in to do it next year too!
It was just what we needed to start out this Holiday Season.
